The 2014 event marks a new format for the event. For this, the eleventh year that the event has run, the organisers want to make the event more accessible. The original events catered for vehicles and competitors of all levels and at a time when many competitors feel that “challenge” events are out of reach of average club competitors it is time to try and return the event to the grass roots of off road motorsport.
There are two major changes in format to try and achieve this. The first change is that, for the first time the Muddy Trucker’s Trophy will not be a team event with 2 vehicles per team, Instead it will be a single vehicle event with the punches and challenges set accordingly. That said, the harder punches will still give the more adventurous competitors a challenge !
The second change is that punches will be colour coded to allow vehicles and crews without the equipment and/or experience to tackle some of the harder punches to bypass those that, for example, may require a multi-winch equipped vehicle without losing any time.
The rest of the normal MT format elements will still be there with a night special on Friday night, punches and special stages on Saturday and Sunday.
